SECTION 3.0 USE WORDPRESS

Now that you’ve completed the initial setup of WordPress, configured your Dashboard to your preferences, and created the appearance of your site, you’re ready to put WordPress to work for you. You’re ready to use WordPress to add and edit content. So in this section we’ll begin creating a  fully-functional WordPress site. It might be helpful to print out this handy table of all WordPress Dashboard Menu settings to see how this section relates to other WordPress settings.

NOTE: WordPress Version 3.3 was released in December 2011. Updates that affect the content of this article are explained here.

In Section 3.0 we’ll cover the five menu items listed above the divider in the left column of the Dashboard.

However, we’re going to discuss these five topics in a slightly different order than listed in the menu:

• Pages
• Posts
• Media
• Links
• Comments
